Interview with Forsakken

Ideas for Suicide Awareness Month

- Make 3 visits this month to people that you normally wouldn’t visit.

- Before going to bed, think of at least 3 things you are thankful for that happened that day. Include others if possible.

- Send 3 messages through E-mail or private message to people you usually don’t talk to.

- Block out at least a half hour 3 days of this month to enjoy being with yourself. You can listen to music, go on a walk, watch a sunset, but make sure it is something you enjoy.

- Write 3 compliments up this month to a place that you feel has superb customer service. This could include but isn’t limited to waitresses, and waiters, fast food workers, gas station workers, mental health providers, etc. Let their managers/supervisors know that the workers are doing an awesome job.

- Do 3 outings with your family

- Post 3 songs to Facebook and/or other social media that have inspired you to do something positive.

- Make it a point to exercise at least 3 times a week.

- Tell at least 3 people throughout the month that you are thankful to have them in your life. Explain why.

- Set aside at least 3 minutes to meditate in a way that you feel comfortable with.

- Take supplements. If you struggle with seasonal affective disorder, this is a good time to start with Vitamin D.

- Make it a point to give hugs to those you are close to when greeting and leaving. Make sure the other person is comfortable giving a hug, as you don't want to cross boundaries.

- Find a group with 2 other people to commit to doing some of the items on this list.
